We have decided that filing for BR is our only option. We made the final decision 1.04.2009 and have cancelled all direct debits to our creditors, including our mortgage. We have never missed any payments but it meant using overdraft which at some point would have come to an end. So stopping payments was really hard and stressful. The property is in negative equity so we are giving the house up and going into rented accomodation again.
Question I have is we are now saving up for the costs i.e. court fees, rented accomodation etc. We are using Reviva (whom have been absolutely brilliant) to do our case as in all honesty we cannot do this on our own so I take my hat off to those who are...panic is my middle name and I would probably falter at the first hurdle.
To get all the fees together we have to default for 3 months before we can move out and file for BR.
If anyone else has had to do that or going through that now how do you keep it together? Will anybody come knocking on our door between the 3 months? My husband is all for going through the process we are filing together the problem is he is making me scared re bailifs coming round and people knocking on our door.Will and can that happen between the first 3 months or is it mainly phonecalls and letters

lets speak tomorrow to put your mind at rest, but to be 100% sure there is absolutely no way that a creditor can get to the bailiff point beofre you are ready to petition in a few months.
the timeline for baliliffs is,
several months of not paying the origional creditor then the debt moves to a collection agent for X months then the debt usually gets moved to anothe agen for X months.
Eventually they may pursue a CCJ and then they may eventually pursue bailiff action.
Suspect bailiff action for you would not occur until well into 2010 unless you fall behind with council tax.
