do employers and or landlords need to know if you have gone bankrupt?

Landlords may be advised by the OR depending upon the rental contract. Employers shouldn't need to be informed unless you are in an occupation such as the Armed Forces, Police, Local Council or Government offices in which case the OR will probably inform your employer.
