Hello
I have been filling out forms on the internet all weekend and speaking to so many people too for advice and what they advise me to do. Im sure some of the people I talk to are only interested in making money and not actually helping me and Im getting really worried and concerned now. I just want someone to advise me and help me to get myself and husband started on a road to recovery without them seeing ££££££ behind their eyes. I phoned CCCS this morning who I know are a charitable company so will not try and take my money (hence what I have NOT got) but noone is able to phone and talk to me to advise me till 4th June. I dont think my head and heart can take all the stress Im under for over another 3 weeks. I have been advised 3 different things and dont know what to do or who to trust.
Can anyone please help me.
Getting very concerned and worried now. |

Hi there, welcome to the forum! What is it on the forms you are worried about? There are many experts and us other less expert people who have experienced filling out forms, suffered from "Am I doing the right thing etc.". Might be useful putting your circumstances in a post and you will find people will help advise. Good luck.

I have been advised by 2 companies bankruptcy, an IVA from 2 companies and now debt management from another company. I have been going over and over our I and E and no matter what way we look at it we do not have enough money to pay for an IVA so how can these companies suggested such. I was talking to a company yesterday and they said after considering the incoming and outgoing we are left with £398 and they wanted £300 for an IVA. I then thought of another outgoing which she hadnt asked me about and I thought I had told them and that is for £350 so through their eyes we are only left with £48 and they still wanted me to think about debt management for £190 a month or an IVA £300 a month. Like how are we supposed to do that?? Im looking at every possible solution and trying to get as much advice as I can from different companies, but I just feel the way they are talking, they are only interested in making money out of me and dont really care about helping me with the BEST solution. To be honest I think bankruptcy is the only way for us considering all the options available.
Any comments from anyone??
Still worried and concerned. |

Another question is If my husband and I entered into an IVA, will it be done jointly. I have just received an email from a company to say it has to be done seperatly and one of us have to have debts over £16,000. We both owe roughly £12,500 each.
Worried, concerned and now confused and noone else has mentioned this to me as of yet.
Many thanks. |

if you would like to have a conversation with one of the experts here on the forum I am sure each will be happy to have a phone call and give you their opinion.
I believe the best way to go is to review the income and expenditure carefully, with knowledge of what is allowed in an IVA or Br and then you will be left with £X per month.
If the disposable is enough for an IVA then you have an option, if however the disposable is less than £250 ish you generally don't have sufficient.
you then always have the choice of Br or debt management.
debt management will clear your debt but assuming that all the creditors freeze interest you should divide your total debt by the monthly contribution. this will give you the time needed to become debt free.
finally with Br you will definately be debt free but there are consequences which you need to understand fully before committing. there is also the posibility of an income payment agreement for 3 years depending upon disposable income. The good news re the income payment agreement is that is is a contribution towards the debts and is a percentage of your disposable income not all of it.
hope this helps a little.
You need to find the right solution for you rather than what someone else is selling.

Hi Shelley, lovely to talk to you on the phone, hopefully I have helped to put your mind at ease with regard to your situation.
Sometimes speaking to too many people giving far too much advice which can help in confusing you more!! particulary when the advice has not been correct! (least said on that one the better or I'll be back on my soapbox!) I hope I have helped you with your particular circumstances, and if I can be of any further help please get back to me, either via the forum or by email or phone direct.
Good luck, and you know where I am if you need me
