One more thing we are foing to open a coop cashminder account in a couple of days.Does the coop contact our current bank when we open this account. We are worried that our wages might be taken by the bank as we owe them most.If they get wind of our intentions to go br.they might take what funds we are going to use out of our wages for the fees. Can anyone advise.

The co-op didn't contact my then current bank (HSBC) when I opened our cashminder account. I was also worried that HSBC would take what was in my current account to offset against the debts (loan & credit card) so I took out what was left in HSBC and put it into the cashminder.

Just before we went BR, I worked out what I would need for living expenses, left that in the cashminder and put the surplus back into HSBC for the OR. I did explain this at my OR interview (lots of bank statement questions) and they were quite happy with it.

the COOP are extremely unlikely to contact your bank
and they are very BR friendly
i would remove all funds from any account that you owe money to and put them in your COOP account as soon as it is opened
