His wife is on long term sick and he wants to know if she will need to pay the fee to apply for bankruptcy.

the full fee is £510 and if in receipt of certain benefits you don't have to pay the court cost of £150 so the fees are reduced to £360
your local court will let you know what benefits are eligible for the reduction
