hi please could you help me to help my daughter she is on a DMP at the moment she is worried in case she is made bankrupt by a creditor and what would happen about there house, her husband is self employed and has debts too but he is just about managing to pay them at the moment, they have a house in joint names which has nearly enough equity to pay off all my daughters debts she is worried about loosing there house. Please could you help,
if her husband went on the DMP plan with my daughter because he is self employed would creditors more likely make him go bankrupt. Thanks Diane

Hi,

Her husband would have to do his own DMP for his own debts.

It is unlikely that any creditors would make her bankrupt as she is making an effort to repay her bills and it would cost them a lot of money to do it. It's not impossible though and because of the equity in the house it would probably have to be sold.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time
