If i declare my self bankrupt i have heard that the people i live with have to write to somebody to say they have no finacial links or ties with me. Something about being put on a different file, if you could tell me who they have to write to i would be very grateful, thankyou for your time James
There is no requirement for anybody who lives in the same property as you to write to anyone. You have to declare who the other occupants are of a property that you own, but that is about as far as it goes.
If you are talking about credit files, then it is unlikely that anyone you share a house with will need to disassociate themselves with you, unless they are your husband or your wife.

I too have been looking into this for my husband. I have just paid for a credit report from Experian and was able to do the "disassociation" bit online. Does anyone know the names of all other credit search/check companies? I know there is Equifax but are there any others I need to contact? Also do I need to buy a report from each or just write to them?
