partners credit rating.just a quick question relating to my partners credit rating/profile.we currently have a joint mortgage which as we are in neg equity are waiting to buy back the BI in the property.as it was myself that was declared bankrupt(all the debt was unsecured and in my name) and have just been discharged.can i disassociate myself from my partner even though we live together.seems a shame that her credit might be affected.she had no idea of the debt i was in till i told her.can someone give us some advice and is it possibl

I don't think there is a need to disassociate yourself to protect your partner's credit rating. If she applies for a loan/CC then it is only her credit rating that will be checked. As she hasn't declared BR then her rating should be ok. Any joint loans/CCs then yours credit rating will be checked as well and this would affect the chances/rates of the loan/CC.

If you have joint loans, then I think the credit rating will be affected.

Not 100% sure though.

I post on the sister forum to this, and I am sure I have read that if you have joint loans, your partner will be affected.

Hopefully one of the experts will be along to answer yes or no.
