i was discharged from my bankruptcy in november 07 and have a basic bank account since june 07,how long is it before i can get a current account?

Hi Russell,

The aim here is to stick with the bank your with as when making a decision to upgrade your account they will go by how the account has been conducted during the term in which you have had the account.

When upgrading the account to a current account you should not apply for any credit as this will raise a credit check against you and result in your being declined. The aim then is to conduct the current account well and build your relationship with the bank.
