Hi all

Been quite a while since I've been on here. I went BR last September so the end is now in sight, yippee! I have had no issues or problems with my br until today

I took out a new home insurance policy this week and got all the paperwork just now and checked it and apparently it is a problem if you are br!!! I'm high risk apparently for fraud. I'm waiting to hear back, probably not until Monday now, whether the underwriters will insure me. In the meantime i have no home insurance.

Anyone else experienced this and does this mean that I'll have to pay a higher premium? Bit unfair if i do, do they not realise that i went br cos i was a bit short on the money??????

Nat

Ours was a bit higher, but it was only a couple of pounds. We got our insurance through Lloyds TSB - they didn't mind I was a bankrupt living in a flood risk area!

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Thanks Skippy
Just a bit hacked off as I went through Swintons via Quidco (really sorry, not sure if i can name them, feel free to edit if needed!)so I got £30 cash back which brought the cost down nicely. Not sure I'd get the £30 back if they have to search for another insurer so could cost more, I don't know anymore!!!!

I know i said before but this really is the first problem and hopefully it'll be resolved quickly since i went br. My boss didn't mind and my mates don't care, so just to all you guys going through it right now, you will be fine and be wondering what you were worrying so much about!

Just to let you know that the underwriters were fine and my home insurance is valid with no extra charges for being BR, phew!

Excellent!

Well done for getting the cashback through Quidco as well - I've just changed my car insurance and I should get £75 cashback!
