How do you get to work? I would put down expenses for that if you go by bus say.

Hi Rabbit,

Not sure if you'll be allowed union fees to be honest. I do pay a union fee but it is taking from my pay at source. Maybe this is something you could arrange if you are currently paying it independently? Also the OR may not allow the £50 for visiting your children and your mobile might be a bit too high.

Sorry to sound so negative, but thats just my experience and I could be wrong. At the end of the day, you can try and get all these through and see what the OR decides on what is reasonable.

If the maintenance is above the CSA (or whatever it is now) level it may be reduced.

I've noticed that you say you are paying £98 for a car but haven't listed anything for petrol, tax, insurance or maintenance.

£60 for phone seems quite high.

Dentist may be reduced, I think the allowance is £10 per month.

I'm not sure if you'll be allowed the £50 for visiting your children.

Hi Rabbit

Is this for your OR interview?

You need to revisit your budget - you can't have expenditure in excess of your income. It may be that family and friends are prepared to assist, but you still have to take account of this and deal with the shortfall. Work out your budget to within your means to help yourself going forward.

I'm assuming that you're flat- or house-sharing because of the expenditure on TV licence and utilities - maybe you can look to make some savings on your food bill by pooling resources again.

As Skippy pointed out, you've nothing listed for the car and this is normally allowable reasonable expenditure for getting to and from work.

Mobile - can you and your family not subscribe to the same network and get free calls? Some networks allow upto 10 registered landline numbers that you won't have to pay when you call.

I think from previous posts that rabbit's children are abroad so the OR may take this into consideration with the £60 mobile and £50 for visiting his children.

I presume calling cards are cheaper that just phoning abroad without them so this may be the cheapest option to keep in touch with his children.

All the other expenses - especially the accomodation costs are modest so I anticipate that the OR will be lenient with everything else.
