just been to cashpoint to try and withdraw wftc from my bank account and because it is so overdrawn they have not let me have any money. have got no other money coming in as i had to give up my business due to ill health so have no other money coming in. Need to pay the rent etc and they have kept the only money i have br hearing is 18th aug can i open bank account before that and transfer the wftc into that so at least we can live till then. i have another bank account that only my child benefit is paid into it has a cheque book and £100 overdraft on it but will i definately lose that??? one of my credit cards that is in the br is from the same bank help!!!

hi, i opened my co-op account before i went bankrupt because i was in the same boat as you being overdrawn and the bank taking the money stright off me, I changed my wftc details over the phone as soon as new account number arrived. change your child benefit to the new account aswell in the same phone call.hope this helps. can you not claim any benefits?

many thanks for the info givemestrength, have got in an application but it is going to take up to 8 weeks to process by then hopefully things will have improved so i can answer the phone again!!! phoned the co-op yesterday have opened an account and am waiting for the details from them but it will take up to 10days so not going to really help with next weeks wftc but there is nothing more i can dojust want it all to be over in some ways!! so stressed

Hi morwena have you already gone bankrupt and if so did the wtfc go in after the bankruptcy order

Haven't gone bankrupt yet hearing is on the 18 of this month. my bank swallowed the wftc in my overdraft and wouldn't let me get hardly any of it out, luckily hubby managed to get together rent for this week.dont know if i will be able to get this weeks out or not but dont have new bank details to transfer it yet

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they are allowed to do this, best to make sure that no more money goes in, perhaps it could be put into someone elses account, or try the post office as their account is specifically for benefits

have opened a coop cashminder account and am waiting for the details so i can get this changed over but i don't think it is going to help me for this week unless i can stop it going in tomorrow, hubbies account is overdrawn so it would get lost there to, wish i had realized earlier that you could open another bank account before you go br apparently po wont let br's have acc and i have dd i need to move over too
