hi, we let our life insurance lapse can we take out a new policy straight away without it having any interest to the OR or do we have to wait till we are discharged from BR, thanks.

You can take out a new policy but the payments would have to come from any disposable income you have. The OR is only normally interested in insurance policies if there is a surrender value and this wouldn't apply to a new policy.
