when declaring bancruptcy - will they check to see you have paid taxes and NI?

yep, i take it you are self employed and havnt paid tax and NI, how long have you missed it for

If you haven't paid these then the good news is that any backlog can be included in a bankruptcy petition.

You will need to have an answer ready when they ask why you haven't paid.
