been to stockport county court today and what an experience!!
they make you wait for 25mins sat under a big red sign stating bankruptcy window and then you give all your info through a closed window for all the office and other people waiting, makes you feel humiliated to say the least!
anyway all forms handed in and we got our hearing date for monday 14th sept at 2pm, this is very quick from what i gather?
both of us a little scared now but know it is our only option!
sods law is that we both get paid on the 15th each month and am thinking this will mess all our direct debits up? ie rent, gas, electric etc
also we are having virgin phone/broadband/tv fitted on the 16th sept this is an alternative and cheaper than sky and cheapest way to get broadband at £25 per month, i take it this will now be stopped??
we will be having a telephone interview with the or is this anything to be scared off?
It sounds like Stockport have a scheme where you hand your forms in Tue-Fri and they have the BR hearings the following Mon, which is the same as some other courts.
Who is your bank account with? If you haven't opened a Co-op Cashminder account then you should do so as your current account (unless it is a Cashminder) will be frozen and possibly closed. If it is a Cashminder account then it shouldn't be frozen but in some cases it can be.
I am not too sure about the Virgin installation however you would probably have applied for the package within the last couple of weeks and, although not BR, your credit rating still wouldn't be particularly good so it's best just to wait and see if they turn up or activate the service.
Don't worry about the OR's interview. Just be completely honest with them as no matter how you have got into this situation it isn't something that they haven't heard before.
Good luck on Monday!

Sorry that you had a slightly uneasy situation at the CC.
As gettingoutofdebt has said the OR interview is not something you need to worry about - we have all been there with either a face to face (as I had) (lasted 10 hours!!!) - But mine was a bit complex and even though it was 10 hours (which I am told may be a record!!) the interviewer was great - he made me feel at ease.
Be honest with the OR and I am sure you will be fine.
There is nothing to be humiliated about as there are more BR cases than ever before - there is no shame - my best wishes to you for Monday, Richard
