Ihave a lot of debts and although paying most of my debtors, have a mortgage, and two secured loans which are a wholelot more than the house is worth, total mortgage and secured loans amount to 140,000 house is worth £80 to £85,000 at most. I am so skint dont no what to do. Is bankruptcy the answer. I am all suffering with 3 life threatening illnesses and am 59 so want to sort things out soon.

I can help with the procedures and technicalities of bankruptcy. However the decision whether to go bankrupt is something you need to talk through with either the CAB, CCCS or national debtline as they can give free impartial advice

Hi Susan,

I am sorry to see you have so much going on at the moment.

As debtinfo has said, the decision can only be yours and we have all been there. It is not easy.

I assume that you are getting health care and support from your GP.

The CAB are always well meaning and generally will assist with ideas. Soe offices are better than others.

I have experience (or my wife has) dealing with the National Debtline - they are supportive and their website is very good.

Post any questions here - you are NOT alone

Good luck, Richard x
