As I have had so much help and support from this forum I just wanted to share my experience today in case its useful to anyone else.
Had my appointment at 10.30 at Plymouth. Lovely lady clerk went through my forms and said they were a joy (i.e. all correct) and totally put me at my ease. She took my £510 and gave receipt and we did the affidavit. She then went up to see the judge having previously told me there were 2 on today, one never sees the petitioner but one always does (just his habit). Of course the one free was the one who sees people. Went up there all he did was check my name and address & ask if the forms were correctly filled and then stamped them. 2 minutes at the most. Clerk then gave me two copies and sent me to OR office. Had about 15 minute wait there to be seen. Nice enough chap just went over whether I had a property, car and what monies in bank, said they would send out forms tonight and I should have my OR interview 6th October. All done in just over an hour and everyone very nice.
Just got the interview to worry about now!!
Anyone filing at Plymouth, please be assured they are great.
Thank you all so much, I even mentioned your help when talking to the clerk and she was pleased with that.
I know i will get an IPA but I am fine with that, its just a relief to have done this.

That is great - told you Plymouth was a good court and you will find the OR good on the 6TH Oct.

I have seen a number of staff at this office - best not to mention names - but they have all been very helpful, professional and done as much as they can to make things run smooth

Must be the Devon air...

Good luck, Richard

Thanks for the update on your experience of the BR hearing. It is posts like this that help me get through our problems. We do not go to court until 25/Nov, but we are both worried about it as neither of us have ever been in a court in our lives. Hope everything goes well for the future for you.

Well done, once the OR's interview is over you will feel much more relaxed and then it is just a case of waiting for the discharge in 12 months or sooner if you are lucky.

Well done on your petition today, I was also declared bankrupt today in Brighton County Court. I arrived at 10:00 with Paul Johns from Reviva and everything went really well, I did not have to see the Judge and we left at 11:30 with my papers stamped. I am just waiting to hear from the OR now which Paul thinks will be on Monday to arrange my interview.

Thank you to everyone who posts on the forum it has made my journey a little more bearable!!

I think everyone worries about seeing the judge and going in the court. And I think alot of us come out afterwards amazed how much of an anti climax it was! I remember coming out and saying to DH 'bloody hell, 990 quid, and we didnt even get to see a guy in a wig!'

so for anyone going to court soon, try not to worry. However intimidating it seems, its likely to be far less in real life. Ditto OR meetings and calls :)
