I was made bankrupt on the 19th March 2009 and met with the OR on the the 8th April 2009. I received an EDREV letter on the 17th August 2009 completed and returned the income and expenditure form straight away and today I have received my notice of discharge.

These events occured due to a failed family business partnership which caused me a great deal of hassle and worry not least the fear of the bankruptcy process. I looked to you people for help and support and you were always there to answer my questions. I would like to thank you all for your support and would say to anyone who is scared about the process just be honest and open with the OR they are only human after all, and they will try to help you.

Now I have to start to tidy my credit record and I have no idea what type of task that is but it cannot be as bad as I had anticipated that bankruptcy would be.

Thanks once again to you all.

Hi Katsmum and congratulations, here is a link which may help with clearing your credit file http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?s=cb2f11b2c3b30cb86f39aa7acf342114&t=677875

I also think skippy has a link to what she did in clearing her file.

Good luck

Well done on the ED! The link Mick mentioned tells you all you need to know about cleaning up your credit file but there is no rush as you have 6 yrs before the credit written off in your BR falls off your credit rating.
