Hi all My hubby went bankrupt in Dec 2008 and me in May 2009. We have both received the same letter today asking us to confirm the source of the funds we used to petition for bankruptcy. Has anyone else ever had this letter? I am just a bit confused as to why with us going BR 6 months apart have we both received this today? Many thanks in advance. Also we left essential bills ,mortgage etc to raise the money and this is why we had to do it so far apart in order to raise the cash again. Will they not beleive us as they are asking whether a third party supplied the funds. Many thanks in advance

Hi L20
I take it that the letter came from the OR
if so reply as you have done so in your original question. If they require further info i am sure that you will be able to produce statements with missed payments
The OR's role is to search for any hidden pots and present them to the creditors, hopefully this is their last roll of dice before finalising your BR.
If the letter came from creditor tell em to stick it oops sorry polite version inform the OR of the letter.
good luck Richard |

Hi L20, they are not checking up on you, The reason they came at the same time is that every so often the Insolvency service sends these out to bankrupts, It is for the government statistics like when you had an ethnic monitering form and the customer comment card. It is to help them make decisions when and if they want to make changes to how the service is run. One example of this is when they introduced Debt relief orders recently to help those who could not find anyway to find the bankruptcy fees |

I also know of someone who had borrowed the money to go BR from her mum and she got it back!
