Hi, bit worried and nervous about next week. Im in Newcastle court and just want to get some advice/reassurance.
Do I need to take anything to the court with me ?
What will happen while i am there ..... will i be getting questioned by someone , what will they be asking me etc
What happens once i get out of the court ?
I do have an expert going to court with me but isnt well at the moment so not able to talk to them.
Do i need to provide to them up to date accounts of all people i owe money to or is there a process in which they contact every one etc
Just want to know what to expect , what will happen , what will i need to do etc
Thankyou

Hi
I was in court last week and all I did was take my 3 sets of forms and my payment saw the judges secretary first who checked my forms and took payment off me I then sat round for a while then went in front of judge, who looked at my papers and said he could see that I could not pay it back abd declared me B/R. I was with judge for about 3 mins only. After judge went back to his secretary who gave me a copy of my B/R order and a copy of my forms and told me to go home and wait for the O/R to call me.
The O/R called me about 3 hours later that day asked me a few questions then I asked a few questions and then booked me in for a telephone interview.
Nothing to worry about really I was just like you. Head up and good luck.

hi ONX
good luck next week
give the court a call or even pop in early part of the week.
if you call at Q time they are normally helpful, the court ushers are also helpful ubless you try to speak to them between 9.30 - 1030 as that is busy time
good luck |

When we went to court, we didn't even see a judge, just an official with the signed order. She phoned the ORs office while we were there, and they advised would be in touch. Off we went deed done. I wouldn't call it pleasent, but certianly not the ordeal I expected. Don't worry, 6 months on, and we are discharged, debt free, and for the first time in a while sleeping easy. Good luck.

Hi
Are you going by yourself?- You mentioned an expert who is not well at the moment - will they be back for the hearing do you know?
It is nothing to worry about - I went BR in May - I paid my fee to the court clerk and then went before the DJ for 2 minutes - she was great - asked me to confirm my name dob and address and that was it - I then went to the OR office and saw an examiner for an hour and made an appointment for the proper interview - that one lasted 10 hours!!
Do not worry, I think I may hold the record... It was two small businesses.
I am sure someone will say about the over the phone interview process - I would not worry though - there are so many BR cases now that they are almost on a conveyor belt!!
Good luck, Richard

Newcastle court is the one we were made BR in, there all very helpful, you go into a little room where the clerk checks your forms with you pay your money and then we had to come back 2 hours later to see the judge. I was a bit nervous about this but I was in out out of the judges room in about 5 minutes. Its nothing to worry about at all. |
