My girlfriend knows that she will have to declare bankruptcy in the near future. We are planning to live together within the next couple of months. Will I be affected by her status? Will my own poessessions be considered as collateral or my income used as part of her calculations? |

Kevin,
Welcome.
First of if you have no joint accounts with your girlfriend, and you have never applied for joint credit facilities, regardless of being accpeted or declined, then you will not be affected by your girlfriends BR. There will be no association of credit files at the likes of Experian, equifax etc.
The OR will not be interested in your goods or income, only your girlsfriends assets in BR. He will however expect that you contribute to housekeeping, bills and the like once you are cohabitting, and if your girlfriend is dealt an IPA.

Hi Kevin
welcome to forum
before your girlfriend finally decides to go BR, get her to discuss all options with one of the experts (Melanie or Paul)
I am sure that if she ask Melanie or paul if you can be present or overhear conversation, it will not be a problem and then you can both understand all processes available
