I agree with Richard, the OR will check with the DVLA.

When i called they said that no D.O.B was given with the log book and would have to be dealt with via solicitor if me and my dad had the exact same name to sort out ownership

Scooby,

Im certainly not condoning this action, but a person I know has hidden a vehicle in excess of 14K during BR, and it was registered in his name. This was 3 years back, and the OR seemed none the wiser.

Thanks for the reply's, the vehicle is a imported subaru and i blew up the engine by running wrong fuel , i was meant to use the car but if i broke it i paid for it, so being a mechanic i promised to fix the car when funds allowed . While in this state the cars worth approx£2500 rebuilt probs around £4000 but will cost £1000 to rebuild .Thanks again its just another thing to worry about as i fill in my forms for Low Income Low Asset BR for the 35k i owe

Hi scooby

They have lots of systems a dvla check combined with post code and electral roll.

Insurance company checks to see named driver

an annoyed creditor seeing you drive around in an expensive car, when they have lost out will no doubt make representations to the OR

2 many ways for some one to try and cover all bases.

you must also declare on the form if you have recently sold a car forget the selling the 10K car for a pound

as i am sure you may have seen on this forum you are allowed a car under certain circumstances, you have to justify reason.
