I had a MBNA CC and they transferred the debt to RMA who put a card through my door saying they would turn up on a particular day. I was home most of the day and they never turned up.

If this is the same RMA that MBNA use they are NOT bailiffs but debt collectors. If they come to the door just politely tell them that you have booked your BR appointment and you will not be repaying the debt.

Debt collectors do no have any powers to enter your property or take any goods in lieu of payment.

debt collectors do not have a power of entry to yours premesis, so dont let them in. likewise baliffs cannot FORCE entry but have the right to enter peacefully which includes through unlocked doors or open windows. Call them and explain the situation - if they are debt collectors the only option they will have is to wait for you to go BR or take you to court (which would cost them money for a debt they will not at this point in time be likely to recover) plus it will prob take them as long as it will take you to go BR

Dont worry the very nature of these peoples jobs is to scare you into paying by means of empty threats.

Hi

These are a well done firm - they are a nasty nasty scumbag firm (oops sorry!!)

I assume that there is no judgement on the debt? In which case they have no power of entry so do not let them in if they call!!

They are trying to scare you into paying - put the creditor on your SOA and when you are BR next month, they cannot touch you for sure!!

Do not be intimidated by these no marks! Richard

Hi I had the same card as you before I went BR, I rang them and told them I would not be in, they asked if they could make another appointment and I said no (they cant see you unless you agree to it).

The best thing to do to put your mind at rst is to ring the contact number on the card and inform them of the date & court name for your bankruptcy hearing - this will ensure they back off and give you some peace of mind that they will not be calling
