Glad you can go back to work glafy.

I have to say that if I baked anything Dave would think I was ill! He says I only venture into the kitchen as I have to go through it to get to the bathroom!

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!

I used to bake a lot - cakes, bread - even sweets.

Since hubby took over the kitchen the only thing I've done is Delia Smiths truffle torte - and that is to die for!

Thanks for the good wishes tracey & kallis.

Hubby actually thinks I must be ill because I never do any cooking at all. He loves cooking (& food shopping!!) and does all the meals usually. Wish you could have seen his face when he walked in to chicken with sauted leeks (ala daytime tv!) & creme fraiche followed by pineapple upside down cake with custard!!
LOL. He nearly fell over
Didn't offer to do the washing up though
It was all really nice but that's it for now, think I've peaked.!!

Delias truffle torte...is that in one of her books? If so which one? I will get Hubby to look

It's in the Christmas book - very rich, but is divine!

Hubby is currently doing thick cut marmalade at the moment, also courtesy of Delia!

Dishwasher in our house! Hubby does anything that needs hand washing and he loves food shopping - even if it is just to rave at the chavs in Asda!

We've had our dishwasher for years - have to admit that I'd miss a few meals if it packed up!

The torte is to die for - if you don't have it then you can probably find it online.

Maybe we could start a 'cooking on a budget' thread under the 'coping strategies' forum????

And why not? Liquid glucose can be bought either from a supermarket or a a chemist. I've never had a problem getting any.
