Hi guys

I have now been discharged

can anyone tell me the if I can remove any of the following off my credit file?

1) finalncial associations?
2) Old accounts show as settled/defaulted?
3)old credit account information
4)previous searches?
5) Linked addresses

and finally, when on a form after six years of bankcruptcy do you have to state yes to the question "have you ever been made bankcrupt"
one person told me you did and the other person said because it comes off your record after six years you no long have to but do have to state it if it is before 6 years?

hope someone can help

Hi,

As far as I am aware, all information will remain on your file for six years. Any defaults showing after the date of BR must be removed by the creditor so I would print off your notice of discharge from the Insolvency Register and send any creditor who has defaulted you a copy.

Searches and linked addresses will remain.

I think that if you are asked if you have ever been made bankrupt you should be truthful and answer yes.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

No matter how far into the future it is, if you are asked if you have ever been BR then you have to answer yes.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

all accounts after BR should show settled or partially settled if they do not ask them to change them and show them that you are discharged
remember to check all 3 credit files Experian Equifax and CallCredit
financial associations can be removed if they are no longer valid ie Ex partners and you no longer have a joint account
previous searches linked addresses etc all stay for a certain length of time
if asked have you ever been BR the honest answer is yes it does not expire or become spent it is all in the wording of the question
