Hi Nickly,

Welcome to the forum.

How much do you owe to your creditors?
Have you done a Income v Expenditure to see what if any disposable income you have?

Gd Luck.

Hi Nickly,

Have you done a I&E?

Do you have any disposable income after paying all bills and credit commitments?

If you have DI then an IVA maybe a possibility, thus avoiding BR.

Have a look here for more info on IVAs:
http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/

Gd luck.

If you have not taken any professional advice, I recommend that you do so. Visit www.iva.com for a list companies and reviews. The advice is free and impartial and they will point you in the right direction.

firstly work out your Income and essential Expenditure not including unsecured debt like credit cards
take the expenditure from the income and what is left is your DI disposable income
if this is more than £200 - £250 you may be better with an IVA
if it is less BR may be more suitable with potentially an IPA income payment agreement for 36 months were a % of your DI goes towards your debts
as has been suggested it would be prudent to get professional advice
depending on your DI for IVA advice contact Mel at Jones Giles www.jonesgiles.co.uk
for BR advice contact Paul Johns at RevivaUK www.revivauk.com
both will happily discuss your situation and advise you on the right choice for a debt free future

Hi Nicky

welcome to forum

I would agree with Chester and contact Mel or Paul, however both of them can and do offer other options outside IVA or BR.

Paul worked with a friend of mine who unfortuantly had a bigger credit card debt (they size doesn't matter it does if you owe 20K you don't sleep if you owe 200K your bank managers dont sleep !)

My friend has not entered an IVA and should be able to avoid BR, not every one qualifies for this scheme but it may be worth contacting Paul or his team

good luck

regards Richard

Visit the link I posted earlier. There are a lot of companies on there and the initial advice is free. They will tell you about all of the options open to you.

Richard - other than a Debt Management Plan, the only other option other than IVA or BR is Debt Relief Order. Nickly has too much debt for this to be an option.

there are other options than IVA or BR and a DMP is only one of them, not all IPs offer all options and some are biased towards those that are better financially for them
i have had personal experience with the likes of those type of companies and would only recommend a professional that i have faith and knowledge that they will hold your best interests as their primary concern rather than ££££££££££££s

If you look on www.iva.com you will be able to read reviews of many companies from people who have used them. That is why I always recommend having a look at the site, as well as looking in the experts' section at the side of the page and then make an informed choice.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Chester, I have to disagree - all IP's will inform you of all of the options open to you.

I agree with Skippy that you should speak to a couple from the link she posted. The IP's on there come highly recommended.

Richard / Housing

ref link by A360 is it one of the approved links by the forum host ?

If so look forward to seeing them as one of our experts if NOT i have reservations about links to sites and companies that we do not recognise and just appear posting flyers.

we have lots of participants on this site both viewing and participating. Some like me initailly confused and everything appearing foggy but slowly with help starting to understand , the guys that regularily post on the site have, I believe a responsibility to do the best we can to make certain that correct companies and overall guidance is correct.

we will all disagree on points at time but that is healthy discussion with the over all aim of helping each other with issues.

as a site expert you carry lots of clout, is this link now an endorsed link ?

regards Richard
