Hi
In October 2009 I was declared bankrupt it was sorted ny thr o/r that he would nil my tax code till april, and that I might get an early discharge, now the problem is for about 6-8 weeks there could be some overtime coming up at work How will this effect me? What happens to the overtime money i get? Will I still be able get an early discharge?
I have just been asked to show my last 3 wage slips to moon beever and my nil tax code should start this week. Also this month wage our new pay deal at work has just been sorted out and backed dated to april 2009 and all my back money should come through this month, will the o/r take all of this?
Any help or advice from here will be greatly taken on board.
I hope someone will be able to help me out.
Thanks
Dez

it should not affect your discharge, you should tell the OR and they may take some, how much are we talking about |

Hi,
I agree you should inform the OR. As debtinfo has said the OR will, almost certainly take some - best to be honest - they have remarkable powers if you try to conceal anything.
It is worth remembering that discharge is not far away, so 2010 will be good... regards, Richard

As the others have said you do need to tell the OR. They may or may not take any of it, but you do need to let them know.
I don't see that getting overtime will stop you getting ED. Personally I would say expect to do the full 12 months, and if you get ED it's a bonus.
