hi there,

hypothetically now that i have been discharged if i was given a cash gift from a family member, lets say £5000 would it be safe to deposit it into my bank account without any comeback from the OR?

i know what ur thinking, but it isn't £5000 that i transfered prior to me going BR lol

thanks,
andy

Yes, any one off cash amounts (lottery wins, gifts from family members, etc.) are safe from the OR and you do not need to declare them.

If you are paying into an IPA then you will still need to inform the OR of any increases/decreases in your monthly wage until the IPA is complete.
