Hi , my hubby is finally filing his BR tomorrow 14th Jan 2010 9:15 am , filled all the forms out, all paperwork with it can you tell me what happens tomorrow and will we see an OR we went into the courts on monday this week and we were given an appointment for thurs ! is that quick !

yes thats quick. generally you go and see the clerk first, hand over the cash (they dont take credit cards for some reason). Swear the affidavit and the clerk checks your forms. You go away for a bit whilst the forms go to the judge. When you come back the judge may or may not want to see you. If they do it is just in a plush office not in open court, usually the judge just asks you a few questions such as are you sure you want bankruptcy, are you still sure and have you taken some advice. then they stamp the forms and the clerk gives you a copy. In some courts the they then ring the OR or in some courts the OR rings you in the next couple of days, they usually ask for contact details, special needs, if you are running a business, if there is anything urgent (like baliffs) to sort out and then give you a date and time for the main interview.

All the courts and OR's vary slightly (so dont worry if yours isnt exactly as described)but that is the general format
