one of my parents wants to give me £1500 from a recent lottery win ,can i safely bank it or is it subject to any rules

If you have been discharged then you can keep any one-off bonus payments, lottery wins, etc. If you are still BR then you should inform the OR and chances are they will take some/all of the amount.
