Hi. What happens if you do not have the requisite £600 to pay the court costs?.. is there still a way to declare bankruptcy?

Hi Ben sorry no cash no bankruptcy

If you are in receipt of benefits you can get a reduction in fee.

If your total debts are below 15K under certain circumstances a Debt relief order may be appropriate.

once you have had guidance and BR is the only option stop paying Credit Cards, loans etc this should enable you to free up some pounds and pennies to save to pay the fees

regards Richard

If you don't have the fee then your only choices are:

- Save until you have the fee. You can use the money you would normally pay to creditors but if you are on a low income then this could still take a long time.

- Let a creditor declare you BR. Unless your creditors are HMRC or the Council then this isn't likely to happen as it will cost creditors about £2k to declare you BR and they would rather sell your debt on to a collection agency.

And the RBL too.

You could ask at your local CAB to see if there are any charitable donantions available too

Good luck, Richard
