I'm off Chinese at the moment - we went to an all you can eat last week and Dave bit into the satay chicken and it wasn't cooked properly! They were really apologetic, but it's not the point, it put me off the rest of my meal!

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

euk!! Tracey raw chicken - no wonder it put you off. you would be really paranoid wouldnt you.
Hey going off to get some packing boxes for our house move wahooooooo. Got them free off 'Freecycle'. For anyone watching the pennies this is a great way of finding things you need or getting rid of things you dont. Oh no!!!! will I be told off for advertising now???....Just wanted to help others.

Exactly Crazee! I prefer Indian anyway!
Raw chicken is not good!
Good on you for using Freecycle. It is to be recommended if you are short of the ready cash.

Awful weather in the Midlands - raining and dark. Don't think I'll be doing much other than washing and ironing today.

Really good game for Wales, fingers crossed for England.
No dog at the mo, had a rescue Greyhound cross but she died. Looking toward getting an older, smaller dog next time. Not yet though as need to make sure we can afford one first. Are your 3 normal mutts or pedigree?

We have a Lurcher, a Heinz 57 (some Staffie in there!) and a Jack Russell. All three are rescue. the Lurcher was to replace a lurcher who we had to have put to sleep, the middle one was rescued from stepdaughter who didn't have time to look after him and the little one came last year because I wanted another one!

I couldn't go to the dog's home if I wasn't thinking of getting one! It upsets me when we have been looking for an animal as I always want to take them all home!
Well done for thinking of getting one from a rescue home Glafy - too many people just want to buy pedigree puppies when there are older dogs desperate for a home x

My dogs will always be rescue ones now. We had a pedigree and he was just over 12 months old when we had to have him put to sleep.
Suzie was the last dog in the last kennel at the place we got her from. Some of the dogs at most rescue centres I've been to I wouldn't have had for one reason or another.

It's a good job that you can no longer walk out with one as probably would have done & it is not the right time at the mo.
I couldn't imagine not getting a rescue, there are far to many dogs wanting homes, it really is sad. Got a bit of a wish list, older dog, smallish, ok with kiddies as we have 2 young Grandaughters (I started young!!)needs to be ok with other dogs as all our friends have dogs too. Tall order but I'm sure we will be as successful in this search as our last one was. I am thinking Jack Russell/terrier type, would like a rough coat but you know how it is, ya walk in there and one just grabs at your heart

Exactly! The Russell is the youngest and she is just coming up to 18 months old - can't believe that anyone would have abandoned her as she is so cute.
