I am currently paying a regular amount each month to EON and British Gas on outstanding balances. As I have now made the decision to go BR can I stop paying these and inform them both of my decision to go brankrupt?

Also, can this same action be applied to council tax arrears?

You can include this years council tax arrears and I think you can include the utility payments as well.

Hi KM

who is going to be your supplier of electricity after BR ?

EON likely to ask you to go onto a meter, then they wind forward clock so they still get paid.

if you can afford to continue to pay utiliites i would do so

EON were the suppliers to two houses ago so no longer provide the gas and electric to where we now live. So I assume therefore that it would not cause a problem as I am paying my current suppliers Southern Electric via monthly direct debit.

Shouldn't be a problem at all.
