Hi cheekyedd - welcome to the forum! Your car will be safe as it value is low and the official receiver won't take any of your persoanl possessions from your home. When you go BR your tax code is set to nil for the tax year you go BR, so if you time it right you can avoid this too. Your BR is placed in the notices in your local paper so someone you work with may see it if they live locally to you. Otherwise the OR has no need to contact your employer directly.
Hope this helps

I feel sure that both your car and computer will be safe as they are of low value and are neded for work purposes.

Hi Cheekyedd and welcome to the forum.
The OR will write to your employer to put you on a NT (no tax) tax code for the financial year you are undischarged, so i'm afraid they will find out.
