Hi,

It seems to me that bailiffs are now becoming more readily involved far quicker than they used to with bill arrears since the recession (which seems to have been going on for years now). I received a final notice from an energy supplier a few weeks ago for a bill I had been waiting for since last October.. and never received. I have been having so much trouble with energy suppliers for the past 6 months. When I phoned them to ask them about this letter and to explain my concerns that they were threatening debt collection action, they apologised and told me the letter should never have been sent out in the first place. They have since supplied with an ammended final bill which I am quite happy to pay. It's just a pity it has taken them 5 months to sort out and worry me with bailiff action in the meantime. It's disgusting how they quite readily threaten late payments with debt action but really take their time in resolving any bill queries the customer may have.
