I have underpaid my council tax. I paid the amount on the bill but they had miss-charged me. I have been visited by bailiffs and am finding it hard to make the payments. I am being chased by debt collectors and more money is being added on which I cannot afford. I made calls to the collector to try to pay but they did not take the payment.
Have you been to your local CAB for them to look at your circumstances in more depth and see if they can help you?

Have you had a word with the council to see if you can come to some arrangement with the payments to spread them over a period of time?
