I know then That I will geT a BRO/BRU & possibly a short prison sentence ( see post about my debts) as I have already transfered another credit card debt that is in my husbands name. Originally it was in mine but because the 0% interest came off I transfered it to my husbands new card that was 0% ( yes he did know about this one) but because as we working out our debts and a lot of them are because I have so many cards and that is where I am going wrong I decided to consolidate some of my debts to 3 cards so before I even discovered this web site or even thought of going BR I transfered it back to one of my cards that I had more or less paid off by a loan. So I am sure I will be penalised for that.
Hi vacs if you can evidence the transfer of what was your debt, to your husband's card and back again, then a BRU/BRO is not definate but may be considered. More of an issue is the card you used which was your husband's without authority. From the OR's point of view you racked up debt on credit you weren't entitled to. However, if your husband is agreeable to deal with it then the matter need not be disclosed to the OR as technically this is no longer your debt.I'm no lawyer but I feel it unlikely that you could be charged with a criminal offence unless your husband agreed to the charge and refused to service the debt himself.
Hi provide your husband stated that all of the card useage for both of you were joint decisions and with his and your knowledge and acceptance, then I don't see problem legally as you are a married couple.
not an option my husband has a very successful business and has no debts as such only the ones i have personnally created. He has said he will not press charges and take over the £11000 credit card I took out in his name illegally but will not take any responability for the £35000 that is on credit cards in my name . He said it will be a lesson for me that he could have never taught me.Our marriage is still very rocky but is improving each day.
Hi good news that your husband is taking on the £11K. This leaves you with the £35K to deal with. With no equity the property is ok, and the car is in your husband's name so that's safe too.
