I moved to where I live about 4 years ago due to work re-location and wasn't bothered about my bankruptcy going into the paper as I still don't know many people in the town.
This morning I have had several telephone calls from friends and family that the advertisement has appeared in the local paper where I used to live. I had decided to sit down with my parents and confess when they got back from their holiday week after next and have just had to do it by telephone before it gets back to them. Wish the OR had told me of this so I could have been prepared, I have been in touch with them and made it aware that I am far from happy at not being told. |

OMG! Sueann, That must have come as a terrible blow to you. I thought there was a time limit on how long they stick your name in the local press but obviously not. I hope that you get it all sorted out and get your life back on track. Take care Jo |

Hi Sueann,
Regrettably, the timing, location (and indeed frequency) of ads placed is entirely at the OR's discretion.

Julian,
That does seem a bit unfair though, you would expect it within the first year or if your on a BRU or BRO but it just seems that any poor devil can have their details listed really indefinately.
I do know that where assets and other money are concerned then the OR has to publicly notify those who are a creditor that they need to put there name forward again in i think its 4 months or they dont get a penny, but to be fair it does seem a little cruel.
Anyhow
Nice to be back :)

I was under the impression that Sueann went BR recently and the advert was put in the local paper where she lives now and where she lived 4 years ago?

Again, it's all down to the OR's individual discretion.
