And good morning, that depends on the banks themselves really. I went BR on the 4/8 my main account was only frozen i called them last Fri. Dont know if i have helped.
So does that mean the freeze them only when the BR person or the OR informs them? Or do they check credit files regularly? I was just wondering Jo, would you have been able to use the account if you didn't tell them?
Hi GP I dont think i could have used mine as it was one of my creditors and was listed as such on my SoA. I also think they will sometimes do it when they see it advertised but also when written to by the OR or as in my case when I called them. I also think they read the Insolvancy register but its mainly the London Gazette and i think there is another paper that these organisations read. If you dont have an OD and its a basic account then the OR may well let you keep it, but it cant be a current account as we are not allowed these. Again its all down to the OR and the Banks. You must tell them all of oyur accounts, if you dont and they find out you could get in trouble for with holding information. Hope this helps
When you go BR, it is advertised in the London Gazette and the Stubbs Gazette as well as the local paper. The first two publications are monitored closely by the financial services industry and it is standard practice for banks to freeze accounts on publication. The timing of this ad is at your OR's discretion.
