If I wish to declare myself bankrupt and cannot afford the fee of £495, can I claim legal aid?

Hey info

I believe that you can claim the court fee back (depending on your income), however the OR fee will still need to be paid.

Also i have heard that severn trent water or british gas (if your with them i think) also offer help with the costs.

I will no doubt be corrected if im wrong, but im sure i have read it here

Hi info

I dont beleive that you can claim legal fees as such but a reduction in the court fee if your on certain benefits.

Contact your local court and see if any of them apply to you as some allow for different ones to be taken into consideration.

Best of luck

hi info
if you are on certain benefits i.e., income support, jsa and some others you also need to get form ex160 from the court (it also explains all the benefits which enable you to claim the reduction of £150) also if you are a customer of certain utilite companys you can claim from their charitable depts.try looking at
www.britishgasenergytrust.org.uk
www.edfenrgytrust.org.uk and i think if you are a customer of anglian water you could contact them,i hope this helps

You could also have a look at my blog it lists some other ideas on how to get your fee paid, remember though its for guidance only and obviously any descison is down to the companies listed.

Best of luck
