hi everyone, started a post yesterday about my mortgage and bank accounts being with the same company (halifax) asking if they would automatically take funds from my account if i stopped paying my mortgage, i did have some replies saying that there is probably a clause in the small print saying that they could....however, my wages gets paid into my soul account but the mortgage comes out of our joint account (both with halifax) can they take from an account thats not set up with the standing order?? im assuming maybe they can being as they are both my accounts!!! any help from the experts (or anyone else for that matter) would be muchly appreciated.

Hi
technically no they can't but I have known it to happen. I personally dealt with a similar problem some months ago and the money was eventually refunded but only after much discussion.
The offending bank was Halifax!
