New Year - New Start.

Today my husband booked his BR hearing for 23rd January. So we have to get the paperwork all in order by then.

Is he likely to get an NT tax code do you think? Or is there too little time left before the end of the tax year? We were wondering if he had to tell his employer, he isn't in a restricted job.

Hi Mr & Mrs

Thats great news about your OH's date for BR.

I doubt if he would at that time of the year go onto an NT code as its only 2 1/2 months till the end of the financial year so i very much doubt the OR would have time to implement it.

No he does not have to tell his employer unless he wants to, as you have said he is not in a profession that would be restricted then really its down to your OH at the end of the day.

If you need any help with the form filling do give us a shout, other than that:

Yes New Year - New Start :-)

Don't you worry Jo - I'll be shouting!!!! We've managed the basics but have to get the rest of the form filled in. Is there anywhere that I can get an example SOA for a couple? And is it going to be allowed to have 2 phone lines and 2 lots of Broadband into the house? I need one lot for my job and it has to be seperate from the main household installation and he needs BB for his job as he works from home sometimes and accesses the company system from here. I can see me having to argue with the satellite TV too - again, a condition of my employment and heavily subsidised

Hi again

You only put down what you contribute, if you want the sky tv then that would be under yours, if you know what i mean.

It is really what he pays towards the bills and you only contribute, so if he pays in £500 then you may only pay in £150 and the OR tech cant query it.

Okay, I think I got that - so, as he earns more than me, he would pay 64% of the mortgage for example (he earns £7k a year more than me)

Hi M&M

Yes, it is only his total income and what you pay into the household expenses as its only him going BR so you dont have to list all your debts and outgoings too.
