Hi everyone. Great website - very informative!

I have just submitted my online form and made an appointment for Jan '09.

Very apprehensive about this. I have 42k of debt mostly on credit cards. I suffered a breakdown last year and was sectioned which is when I became unable to meet my repayments. I was diagnosed with bipolar and went through a manic stage and was spending left right and centre!

I am now self employed and earning £866 per month + £212 tx credits which gives total income of £1078 per month. Since my breakdown, I am living with my parents. I have listed my expenditure as follows

Housekeeping £150
Telephone £50
Travel £200
Clothing £55
Maintenance Payments £325
Essentials £65

Which gives a total of £845 - but this does not include monies I need to spend when I have the kids every other weekend. Do you think I will be required to pay anything out of my income?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Ultimate

You need to list all things like hairdresser, dentist, opticial if you wear glasses.

Youe housekeep is quite low is it just you going BR as you could put down £187.

Do you pay for gas and electric in your amount too.

You can also put down for a domestic break per month.

Hi Jo

I will have to amend the forms the include absolutely everything i guess? i am living at parents who are not charging me rent but with the expense of having my kids every other weekend I am left with nothing.

How much can I put for a domestic break per month?

Is it OK to amend the forms manually (I have now submitted them online and printed three for the courts) or will I need to go online again and re-do the forms?

ultimate,

Please open up the Household Expenditure Spreadsheet from the Insolvency Service website. The examiners actually use this spreadsheet to assess the bankrupt's outgoings. There are a lot of items you may not be claiming and which you could claim for. The less disposable income you have the less chance of an IPA/IPO, hoever, your figures must be reasonable and justifiable.

ultimate,

I just realised at second glance that you have already submitted the forms. If there are any adjustments you need to make these can be discussed in your telephone interview or by updating the OR by letter during the course of your bankruptcy.

Hi Ultimate

If you have lots of changes then you may have to redo the form or just make the changes in BLACK pen on each copy.

It may be a good idea to do this infront of the clerk at the court, with regards to the break you could put about £30-40 pm.

At the end of the day you do have your children sometimes and also the OR can only say no.

Take care and good luck

Thanks for your help guys. I have redone the forms online to include everything. What will I be required to take along to the meeting? bank statements etc?

Thanks

Hi Ultimate

All you need for court is the forms, the fee and you.

There really is no need to take any other paperwork the OR will request this a few days later.

Good luck with it all.
