hi all, when the OR asks for bank statements, does he only want a year and does he need a break down for any cheques that are paid in, cos we are having trouble remembering what certain cheques were for and dont seem to have the cheque stubbs any more..........what is the OR actually looking for when looking at bank statements ???

Hi

he / she are looking for odd payments to favoured creditors, money squirreled away, large purchases like holidays / TV's etc, Things that you haven't disclosed.

Also it shows your income, and benefits etc and really gives a good picture of what has happened over the last 12 months.

They often ask for 6 - 12 months.

If they want any more then they can obviously ask for them from the bank directly.

Hi there, we only gave in 12 months statements to the OR and also any other statements from credit cards, our loan agreements if we had them and any letters with the balances on which we had plenty off towards the end as every week we would get one from the creditors.

Keep a file of all letters etc from the creditors then you can hand this over to the OR when or if they ask for them.

It may be worth copying more of the important things like mortgage statements, wages slips etc then you have for your own records.
