morning,
can anyone tell me what the OR is looking for in the bank statements, is it large sums of cash being stashed away ? i am a bit worried cos we have largeish sums going in ( 200 -500 ) then being transfered between accounts, and we can not remember what some of them were for
moving forward to new beginnings |

Hi Jo
They just look for allsorts anything that they think may be out of sorts or very large sums of money that you have not mentioned about, they check what you have said on the form with what you have going out.
I would mention about the sums if asked, no good worrying about it, and if they do ask just say as you have here it was just for bills etc and oyu cant remember completely whatever you do dont hide anything as they will find it.
You must be honest at all times as you swore an oath in order to do so.

jo,
my experience is that I thought a lot of transactions might be questioned but absolutely none have. Like you, there was the odd hundred quid or so going between various accounts. They must have criteria for judging what is or isn't worth investigating. Obviously, if someone has put down a balance of £0.40 for a bank acount and a statement from the recent past shows £100,000 going out to a betting company or something alarm bells might ring, especially if the bankrupt did not provide the statements and the OR had to get them himself. The fact that you have submitted the statements yourself bodes well. |
