Hi, I have been offered a job as a Branch Manager for a large security company in London. I have just been discharged from my bankruptcy, however, it is a condition of employment that they have to have me credit checked. Will it show up? And is there any chance i could lose out on the job? I would appreciate some advice on this, as I am worried sick! Thanks.

I think if the security has to do with money then a credit check will show up your BR. Have they asked you directly if you have ever been BR?

Tbh, I would imagine you have more chance of getting he job if you get in first & say, if they can find out by other means then maybe they will want to know why you haven'told them?

Hi there my advice wold be to contact the personnel dept of the new job and explain your situation that you were bankrupt but have obtained your discharge. Bankruptcy should not hinder your employment prospects - bankruptcy usually only poses a dificulty if you need to be licenced in the finance industry or strangely enough a croupier. It will be far better for you to be upfront with the information - honesty is always the best poilicy - if then it shows up it does not show any dishonesty on your behalf.

Congratulations on the job offer though!
