I've done this based on what we spend, and am expecting to get argued down on alot of things. Is it better to do it this way, so that there is some room for negotiation?

you would not get the last two allowances past the OR, phone costs also seem high, however, going in on the max or above is good, but be prepared for amendments to be made, far better that way than undercutting yourself!

I think Melanie has said this because it's quite high - how many pets is that for?

I thought (and Melanie will correct me if I'm wrong) that you were allowed up to £20 per pet.

As I said I'm not 100% sure as I didn't have any animals when I went BR.

I definately have proof of it at least, we've had the same insurance provider at this rate since july...
I can see I'm gonna have to do a great deal of persuading, such as with the phones :( |

Don't worry and just fill it in. My OR just went through, questioned a couple of things, and ticked what she allowed. You could play with it for 10 years, better to just do it and wait and see :)

We have 2 cats, the pet insurance per month is £20 for both and food/litter about another £20.
The maximum allowed is £20, not PER PET, but overall, so we had to pay the insurance out of surplus. |

I didn't have a cat when I went BR, but when I have mi I & E reassessed in April (pay cut at work) I'm going to claim £20 for him - £12 insurance per month and the rest for his food.

eeeeeep :O
I included pet food in my housekeeping. I guess I'll have to take the insurance off them, as if I get an IPA, I definately cant afford to have them insured :( |
