Hi there I read that post yesterday about notices not going in local paper but have tried to find info on this and cant seem to. I have to sa I saw a load in our local paper just a few weeks ago so i would assume they still do. HOpe not as I'd rather all the neighbours didnt know!! Maybe one of the experts wil be along soon to confirm this>
I have been on insolvency service and have found this link http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2009/uksi_20090864_en_1 although from what i can make out it seems to apply just to company insolvencies. Please correct me if im wrong
It appears to be discretionary I was informed by my Or office that as of 5th April it only goes in London Gazette and on Insolvency Register. Not locally The OR can still decide to advertise locally and this is particularly in cases where there is a lot of local financial interest and creditors. My area definatley no longer advertise locally but I have heard of others who still do so. You have to just bite the bullett and at the end of the day it will only be a 24 hrs wonder if people do see. Believe me it is a small price to pay for the relief and lifting of the emotional burden.
As ripski said, it is at the discretion of the different OR offices. Cardiff are still advertising locally. You can ask at your local office what their policy is if you are concerned.
