I have worked for myself for the last 10 years, 2 months ago i lost my job, right out of the blue. We had to use the tax money to pay the bills and now my accountant has said i owe a massive bill. If i declare my company Bankrupt, what will happen, will they right the debt off. We had some bad advice from our accountant ad not a lot of help, i have been to the C,A,B but the guy only confused things. Any help would be great. |

Hi
We were in a similar position, we dissolved the company and went personnally BR as because my hubby was director HMRC would have come after us for tax owed, we had to fill forms out for HMRC as we told them we were BR they seemed to accept that we therfore had no funds to pay the companys debt.
Hope this helps.
At present we have heard nothing from HMRC regards to company and on Companies house it shows as being dissolved.

you are not necessarily liable as a director for the limited companies HMRC liabilities.
i would recommend you take professional advice - from one of the forum experts - who have expertese with both busines and personal situations.
