It normally takes a couple of months after you send the form back for you to find out if you get ED.

If you don't have an IPA or any assets I doubt that your case would be passed to the RTLU as they deal with assets.

You can still get ED if you are on benefits - my friend wasn't working and she was discharged after 7 months.

To be honest I don't know when it comes to bank accounts as they are a law unto themselves! I phoned the Co-op on Thursday and asked how long I would have to wait for a full current account (I'm happy with the Cashminder but was just curious). I was told they would consider it 6 months after discharge so I applied and needless to say was turned down! I also tried for a savings account, and again I was turned down.

I get the impression banks don't really want us while the BR is still showing on our credit files.

Im back with Think after the problems with Coop such as authorised card payments that shouldnt of been and nto updating my account balance for a week, and freezing my account from time to time. Im looking at going with Lloyds for their basic account or yorkshire for their basic account that has Maestro on it or Yorkshire Building Society.

I've never had any problems with the Co-op, they couldn't have been more helpful when I had a couple of problems.

Good luck finding and account, and don't forget to let us know how you get on x

You could also think about the Clearcash card - it costs less than Thinkbanking and you can bills through there and have your wages paid across.

Costs £9.99 a month.

I presume you have a sort code etc. I know it doesn't do DD's but it does do SO's and you can do payments.

There is also this one:

http://www.securetrustbank.com/prepaid-current-account/

Not sure if it is up and running yet, but if not it will be shortly. This does do Direct Debits and looks quite good.

That has to be good then if you have more control over it.

I'll be interested to hear how you get on with it.

That was one of the (many!) things I didn't like about Think, the fact that they controlled my money rather than being able to move it around myself.

How does that work then Skippy? At least with my bank it's my money and I decide who gets paid and when!
